TOWSON, Md. – Matchups with new opponents as well as traditional rivals highlight the Towson men's lacrosse 2015 schedule.
"The 2015 Towson Tigers have been putting in a lot of hard work to prepare for an exciting spring schedule," said Head Coach
Shawn Nadelen. "Continuing our games against local and Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rivals along with the addition of some new opponents has allowed us to create a diverse 2015 season. The release of our 2015 schedule generates a lot of energy from our Towson players, families, alums, fans and recruits in anticipation of the Towson Lacrosse season just two months away."
The Tigers begin the season with home tests against a pair of cross-town rivals in Johns Hopkins on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. and Loyola on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. Towson then plays four straight Maryland-D.C. opponents on the road in Georgetown on Saturday, Feb. 21 (12 p.m.), Mount St. Mary's on Friday, Feb. 27 (4 p.m.), Navy on Tuesday, March 3 (7 p.m.) and UMBC on Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m.
Towson Lacrosse returns home for a pair of contests against Hobart on Saturday, March 14 at 12 p.m. and Ohio State on Tuesday, March 17 at 7 p.m. in a re-match of the Tigers' and Buckeyes' 2013 first round NCAA Tournament game. The Tigers finish up the non-conference season with a road game at Binghamton on Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m.
A typically tough CAA season will be made even tougher by playing three out of five league games on the road. The Tigers start at home against UMass on Saturday, March 28 at 12 p.m. before heading to Delware on Saturday, April 4 at 7 p.m. and Fairfield on Saturday, April 11 (2 p.m.). Tiger Lacrosse welcomes Hofstra to Johnny Unitas® Stadium on Saturday, April 18 at 12 p.m. before closing out the regular season at Drexel on Wednesday, April 29 at 1 p.m. The Tigers will look for a measure of revenge against the Dragons, who knocked Towson out of the 2014 CAA Tournament in the semifinals.
The CAA Championship is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29 and Saturday, May 2, before the NCAA Tournament kicks off on May 10-11.
Towson returns 26 letter winners from a 2014 team that went 8-7 overall and reached the CAA Tournament for the third straight year.
