Gymnastics adds Gamble for 2018 Season

TOWSON, Md. – Towson University gymnastics head coach Vicki Chliszczyk has announced the signing of Kyla Gamble to a National Letter of Intent (NLI).
 
"I am very excited to welcome Kyla to the Towson Gymnastics family," said Chliszczyk. "Kyla has proven to be a hard worker and has the skills necessary to help us reach our full potential by increasing our depth in all four events. She has a unique ability to be powerful, yet graceful at the same time. I fully expect her to make an immediate impact in the all-around." 
 
Gamble, a native of Pembroke Pines, Florida, currently trains at the International Gymnastics Training Center. She previously competed with American Twisters Gymnastics.
 
Gamble finished tied for 13th-place in the all-around with a personal-best score of 37.425 at the 2016 JO National Level 10 meet. She placed in the top 25 for all five events and recorded a personal-best 9.525 on the balance beam to tie for 15th-place.
 
At the 2016 Regional 8 Level 9 & 10 Championships, Gamble was the runner-up on the uneven bars with a personal-best score of 9.550. She also just missed the top five for two events, finishing sixth on vault (9.425) and eighth in the all-around (36.850).
 
Gamble impressed at the 2016 Florida Level 6, 9, 10 State Championship. She was named state champion on vault (9.600) and was the co-champion on the balance beam (9.400). Gamble won bronze in the all-around (37.175) after taking fifth on both the uneven bars (8.925) and floor exercise (9.250).
 
Gamble recorded a personal-best of 9.350 on the floor exercise at the 2016 Tim Rand Invitational. She posted a personal-best of 9.625 on vault at the 2015 Region 8 Level 9-10 Championships.
 
"When I visited the campus, I felt at home," said Gamble. "Everyone welcomed me with open arms."
