TOWSON, Md. – For a second-straight season, the Towson men's lacrosse team will host a First Four game for the 2016 NCAA Championship Tournament.
The Tigers (14-2) will host Hobart College on Wednesday at 4 p.m. from the friendly confines of Johnny Unitas ® Stadium.
The winner of Wednesday's game will head to Denver, Colorado to take on second-seeded Denver on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Ticket prices have been set by Towson at $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (65+) and youth (2-12). Cost of admission for a student will be $5, while groups of 10 or more can get discounted rates at $5.
Towson, which was the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Regular Season Champion, earned an automatic qualifying bid to the 2016 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship by virtue of its 4-2 win on Saturday over second-seeded Fairfield in the Tournament.
Likewise, Hobart earned the Northeast Conference's automatic qualifying bid after besting Saint Joseph's 11-7 on Saturday.
The Tigers and Statesmen are familiar foes as the teams met last season, a 9-6 Towson win on March 14, 2015. While Wednesday's game will be the first postseason meeting between the teams as Division I opponents, the programs clashed several times as Division II teams in the 1970s. Towson claimed the 1974 NCAA Division II Championship over Hobart with an 18-17 overtime win.
