TOWSON, Md. – Temperatures in the low 80s and clear skies greeted the Towson University men's lacrosse team as the two-time defending Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champions took the field at Johnny Unitas ® Stadium on Monday to begin fall practice.
Split into three sessions, with the offense and defense working opposite ends of the field, the Tigers, who went 16-3 last season and advanced to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship quarterfinals, began the day with stretching and warm ups. Soon after, the offense worked shooting drills, while the defense focused on approaches and angles.
"With our official first day of Fall Ball practice complete, it was great to see our energy, competitiveness and work ethic be on point with what we expect for Towson Lacrosse," said head coach
Shawn Nadelen, who begins his sixth season at the helm of the program. "We are emphasizing our ability to evolve as a Towson lacrosse program, with increasing our work ethic and refining our systems to achieve greater success. We understand that our work ethic will put us in position to earn all that we expect to achieve, knowing that nothing will be given to us along the way."
Following the offense and defense sessions, the team's faceoff specialists and goalies put in the time to perfect their respective crafts.
The Tigers' fall scrimmage slate will be released this week. Be sure to check back on TowsonTigers.com for more information.
