TOWSON, Md. – Despite recording a season-best team score of 194.050, the Towson University gymnastics team fell to No. 14 George Washington on Sunday afternoon. The Colonials finished with a team score of 196.000. The meet, held in SECU Arena, served as the Tigers' Team Up For 1 Day.
 
Towson's best performance of the meet was on the floor exercise (48.600), the Tigers' final event of the meet. The Tigers recorded season-bests on vault (48.375) and the uneven bars (48.500). Towson had gymnasts set or matched six career-bests and eight season-bests.

How it Happened

• Towson opened the meet on vault, recording a season-high team score of 48.375. Gabriella Yarussi and Erin Tucker recorded matching 9.725 scores to tie for fourth-place. Cortni Baker and Mary Elle Arduino tied for eighth with matching 9.650 marks. Bayleigh Fobes finished 10^th with a score of 9.625.
• The Tigers moved the uneven bars for the second rotation, tallying a season-high 48.500. Brittney Ranti led the Towson effort with a 9.775 to tie for fifth-place. Tyra McKellar followed, tying for seventh (9.750). Baker finished ninth with a score of 9.700, while Noelle Harada followed in 10^th-place (9.650).
• Towson posted a team score of 48.575 on balance beam in the third rotation. Mary Elle Arduino tied for second-place in the event (9.825). Gabriella Yarussi tied for sixth-place (9.800) and Ally Wesoly placed eighth (9.750). Melissa Temkov scored 9.625 to finished ninth, followed by Noelle Harada in 10^th-place (9.575).
• The Tigers recorded their highest event score of the meet on floor exercise with a 48.600. Melissa Temkov and Erin Tucker tied for sixth-place with matching 9.750 scores. Four Tigers tied for eighth-place as Cortni Baker, Tyra McKellar, Bayleigh Fobes and Noelle Harada all earned 9.700 marks.
• Tyra McKellar placed third in the all-around with a score of 38.525. Her best performance of the meet was on uneven bars (9.750).

 
Behind the Scores

• For a second-straight meet, Gabriella Yarussi set a career-best on vault with her mark of 9.725. Bayleigh Fobes set a season-best for the event with her score of 9.625. Tyra McKellar also set a season-best (9.550). Mary Elle Arduino and Cortni Baker matched their season-bests (9.650) for the event.
• Brittney Ranti set a career-best on the uneven bars with her score of 9.775. Cortni Baker (9.700) and Noelle Harada (9.650) also set season-bests. Tyra McKellar matched her season-best for the event (9.750).
• Melissa Temkov set a career-best 9.625 on the balance beam. Ally Wesoly matched her career-best of 9.750 for the event. Noelle Harada had a season-best score on balance beam (9.575).  
• Melissa Temkov also recorded a career-best on floor exercise with a mark of 9.750. Erin Tucker made her home debut on floor exercise, second overall of the season, and matched her career-best of 9.750.
