YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Towson University gymnastics team dropped a road dual meet decision to Eastern Michigan University on Monday evening. Eastern Michigan won the meet with a team score of 196.000, while Towson finished with a score of 193.075.
                                                                                                                                                    
The Tigers had 19 top 10 performances at the meet, including five of those routines in the top five. Erin Tucker won the event title on vault, while Gabriella Yarussi finished as the runner-up on balance beam and all-around. Towson had two other top-three performances at the meet, as Tyra McKellar was a runner-up on uneven bars and Noelle Harada placed third in the all-around.

How it Happened

• Towson recorded a team score of 48.525 on vault, led by Erin Tucker who won the event title (9.800). Gabriella Yarussi tied for fourth-place (9.750) and Cortni Baker tied for sixth-place (9.700). Mary Elle Arduino rounded out the Tigers in the top 10, tying for ninth-place (9.650).
• The Tigers totaled 48.625 on uneven bars as Tyra McKellar matched her career-high of 9.900, which is also a season-best, to tie as the runner-up. Noelle Harada tied for sixth-place with a season-best 9.750. Bridget Steffen and Gabriella Yarussi earned matching score of 9.675 to tie for eighth-place. Cortni Baker tied for 10^th-place with a score of 9.625.
• On floor exercise, Towson posted a team score of 48.725. Gabriella Yarussi finished tied for fifth (9.800), while Erin Tucker and Cortni Baker had matching scores of 9.775 to tie for seventh-place. Tyra McKellar finished 10^th with a score of 9.725.
• Towson totaled 47.200 on balance beam in its final rotation of the meet. Gabriella Yarussi was the runner-up on balance beam with a score of 9.850. Mary Elle Arduino scored 9.725 to finish sixth. Noelle Harada placed ninth in the event (9.475), while Ally Wesoly (9.100) placed 10^th.
• In the all-around, Gabriella Yarussi finished second with a score of 39.075. Noelle Harada took third-place, scoring 37.925.
