CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The Towson University women's swimming and diving program finished third with 505.5 points at the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Swimming & Diving Championships at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. William & Mary won the conference title with 749.5 points, followed by James Madison in second-place (700.5).

Towson won two medals on the final day of the conference meet.
Ashley Illenye won the 1,650-yard freestyle and
Jacy Icard won bronze in the 200-yard backstroke.

Over the four day meet, Towson set a school record, posted two NCAA 'B' cut times and went to the podium six times.
How it Happened
- Ashley Illenye won the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16:40.07. Corie Morton timed 17:01.50 to finish fourth while Megan Jones placed 13th (17:20.75) and Danielle Clark placed 16th (17:25.21).
- Jacy Icard recorded a NCAA 'B' cut of 1:58.09 in the 200-yard backstroke to win bronze. It was the first time in her career that she recorded a mark under two minutes for the event. Kendall Krumenacker finished sixth (2:00.64) while Olivia Evans won the consolation 'B' finals to finish ninth overall (2:00.23).
- Megan Cowan took fifth in the 200-yard butterfly, timing 2:02.18. Maddi Mangum finished 15th with a time of 2:06.86.
- Amanda Rosa placed sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:19.85.
- In the 100-yard freestyle, Caitlin Manthe placed seventh (51.34) while Melissa Toy finished 11th overall and third in the consolation 'B' finals (51.43).
- The 400-yard freestyle relay of Jacy Icard, Kendall Krumenacker, Caitlin Manthe and Melissa Toy finished sixth with a time of 3:27.81.
