The first swimmer to be inducted into the Towson Athletic Hall of Fame, David Farmer '73 received this honor in 1988.
A two-year captain who led Coach Ray Riordan’s team in 1972 and 1973, he set school records in the 50-free, 100-free, 100-back, 200-back and 400 IM. A competitor at the Pan Am Games in 1971, he was named Towson’s Senior Athlete of the Year in 1973.
A two-time MVP for the Tiger swimmers, Farmer qualified for nationals in 1973. In 1987, he set a world record in the 50-free for men aged 30-34 in the Masters Nationals. Farmer also held a top three ranking in the 50-free (long course).
