TOWSON, Md. – Three Towson University baseball players have earned Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) recognitions following exemplary performances during the 2024 season, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Elijah Dickerson and
Jordan Peyton were each named All-CAA honorable mentions, while
Taye Robinson earned CAA All-Rookie Team honors.
Playing in all 54 games this season, Dickerson paced the team with a .339 batting average. He stood fifth in the league with 75 hits during the regular season, and his 18 strikeouts were the tenth fewest among qualified players. Dickerson's 21 doubles this year stood third in the conference. That tally landed him tied for third in a single season in program history with four others. In the career record book, Dickerson's 46 doubles over three seasons at Towson stand tenth all-time, tied with Liam Healy (1995-98).
This is the second All-CAA honorable mention distinction of Dickerson's Towson career (2022). He was also named a preseason All-CAA second team outfielder before the 2023 season.
Jordan Peyton earned his first All-CAA honorable mention distinction after leading the team with 40 runs scored, 41 RBIs and eight stolen bases. The infielder recorded multiple hits in 11 of the final 13 games of the season, increasing his batting average from .264 before the game vs. Delaware on April 27 to .336 at the end of the season. Peyton finished tied for sixth in the league with 72 hits. He led the team with ten multi-RBI games and closed the season on a 15-game reached base streak.
Taye Robinson was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team after being the first Tiger since Bruce Zimmermann in 2014 to earn multiple CAA Rookie of the Week awards in a season. He finished the season batting .310 with 26 runs scored, ten extra-base hits and 28 RBIs in 51 games played (49 starts). Robinson had team season-highs of four hits and seven RBIs against Richmond on May 7, helping him earn his second of two weekly honors during the regular season.
This is the second-straight season a Towson rookie has been named to the CAA All-Rookie Team after
Casey Bishop earned the distinction last season.
