Allison Marella led the Towson effort in the College Women's Gold 6-kilometer race on Saturday at the 43rd Annual Paul Short Run. Marella finished 112th out of 404 runners with a personal-best time of 21:3, knocking two and a half minutes off of her previous 6k personal-best. In addition to her performance being the best of her career, it was the fastest 6k time by a Tiger since Elisabeth Tauber ran 21:25 in 2013. Towson placed 26th out of 45 teams in the College Women's Gold race with a total time of 1:49.09. Towson defeated four teams that were then listed in the USTFCCA NCAA DI Mid-Atlantic Region rankings (Temple, Saint Joseph's, La Salle and Rutgers). All seven Tigers posted personal-best times for a 6k race and five Tigers broke into the program's top 6k performance list. Towson’s performance at the Paul Short Run earned it the No. 14 spot in the USTFCCCA NCAA DI Regional Rankings for the Mid-Atlantic Region, announced Monday. It is the first time that Towson has been ranked since the 2011 season.
