
WHAT IS THE TIGER ATHLETIC FUND (TAF)?
In order to BUILD GREATNESS both on and off the field, Towson Athletics established the Tiger Athletic Fund as the fundraising arm for the department. TAF relies on its members and their generous support to offer enhanced opportunities for over 500 student-athletes each year. Gifts of all sizes make an impact by offsetting various operational costs, allowing coaches and staff to address a wider range of needs.
WHY JOIN TAF?
Our desire to provide the best student-athlete experience, one enhanced with additional resources to build greatness and push forward as an athletics brand, is not possible without the continued help of Tiger Nation. As contributions increase through annual Tiger Athletic Fund memberships, the Athletic Department is able to invest more of the operating budget into program enhancements such as nutrition, facilities and recruiting.
ANNUAL TAF MEMBERSHIP
Donations of $25 and up to Towson Athletics will qualify you as a Tiger Athletic Fund member. When you become a member, you'll join a network of Black & Gold faithful that strive to be more than fans. Your yearly contribution determines your annual membership level and its associated benefits. TAF operates on a fiscal year that runs from July 1st to June 30th. To be an annual member, we ask that you donate at least once during the fiscal year. Benefits outlined in the benefit chart are exhausted after use. That means if you donate in September and join us for donor hospitality during the football season, you will need to donate before the next football season to experience those benefits again. If you donate in February and have not yet experienced hospitality at a football game, you are eligible for those benefits for the upcoming season despite giving in the previous fiscal year.
SEASON TICKETS, PARKING AND DONATIONS
The Tiger Athletic Fund does not require season ticket holders to donate. If a season holder wants to buy parking for the season for football or men's basketball, a $100 donation (unrestricted fund) per permit is required to access the permitted, VIP lots.
TAF MEMBER HOSPITALITY
Donors that give $500 to the athletics annual fund/unrestricted fund are invited to attend TAF Hospitality in the Minnegan Room during home football games. A game ticket is required (single game or season ticket). Donors that give $1,250 are invited to attend TAF Hospitality on the concourse in SECU Arena during home men's basketball games. Like football, a game ticket is required (single game or season ticket). TAF does not offer hospitality for any ticketed sports outside of football and men's basketball. Occasionally, TAF will host an event prior to other ticketed games. TAF members will receive an exclusive invite to these events on a season-by-season basis.
WHAT ARE PROGRAM ENHANCEMENTS?
Program enhancements are resources that coaches invest in to further improve the quality and value of the Tiger student-athlete experience. Basic needs, like conference travel and essential equipment, are budgeted and provided by Towson University each year. If a head coach wishes to enhance the experience for their student-athletes by investing in things like advanced performance technology, upgraded nutrition, travel abroad/out-of-conference events, additional equipment, facility upgrades, etc. they rely on donations and private support outside of their allocated budget |
