Towson's defense held Massachusetts, which ranked second in the league with 11.00 goals per game, to just three goals in the Tigers' Colonial Athletic Association home opener, the fewest conference goals allowed in the Shawn Nadelen era (2012). The Tigers, who topped the Minutemen 6-3, are the third-ranked scoring defense in the country, allowing just 6.90 goals per game, backstopped by Tyler White's 6.77 goals against average.
