Jordan Malkin Headshot

Jordan Malkin

Jordan Malkin serves as Towson's director of basketball operations, entering his third season in 2022-23.

During the 2021-22 season, Malkin was part of the program's first-ever CAA regular season title and berth into the National Invitation Tournament.  The Tigers finished 25-9 and 15-3 in the CAA, with three players earned all-league honors including Cam Holden and Nicolas Timberlake on the First Team.  It was the winningest Division I and CAA season in program history.

Malkin comes to Towson after being the head manager for the University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team for other two years.  Among his duties included organizing team events, making travel itineraries, handling and distributing gear plus planning recruiting visits.  During his two seasons as the head manager, URI won 39 games.

“It is a dream to be here, especially after my father. I can’t wait to get started!” said Malkin.

“It is great to welcome Jordan on board,” said Towson men’s basketball head coach Pat Skerry. “We met a couple of years ago at the NCAA Basketball Academy and have stayed in touch since.  He is coming to us from a great Rhode Island program where we worked under a talented staff.  His energy, work ethic and enthusiasm will be a welcome addition.  Both his parents are Tiger graduates, and his Dad, Ira, was a former manager here and is a stronger supporter of the program.”

Maklin interned as the NCAA Collegiate Basketball Academy in the Summer of 2019, evaluating high school players for teams and assigning volunteer coaches, plus was a volunteer at the U.S. Junior Basketball Mini Camp.

He was an integral part of the URI athletic department, including interning in the sports media department, being a color analyst for ESPN+ broadcasts plus occasionally being the Rhode the Ram mascot.

Malkin, a Connecticut native, graduated from Rhode Island in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations.
