Ryan Hunt

Ryan Hunt, who spent four years as the diving coach at East Carolina University, was named the men's and women's diving coach for the Towson University swimming and diving program in the summer of 2016.

Hunt served as the men's and women's diving coach at East Carolina for four years, helping the men's team to back-to-back American Athletic Conference (AAC) titles in 2015 and 2016. Hunt was named the 2016 AAC Men's Diving Coach of the Year.
 
At East Carolina, he planned and conducted practice and competition activities for the diving program and was responsible for technical instruction on both the springboard and platform. Hunt oversaw study hall for the program, arranged team travel and purchased dry land equipment. He worked closely with compliance and student development, as well as being instrumental in recruiting.
 
Hunt coached multiple NCAA Zone Championship qualifiers and all-conference performers during his time at East Carolina. He helped the women's team record a perfect 11-0 dual meet record during the 2013-14 season. Under his guidance, the men's team won its first ACC title in 2015. The men's team continued their success, winning the conference title again in 2016 as Hunt earned Men's Diving Coach of the Year honors from the conference.
 
Prior to being named diving coach for the Pirates, Hunt served as an assistant volunteer coach for the program from 2008-2010. He assisted with practice and competitions, planned and implemented drills and workout schedules. Hunt also managed students' academics and athletics performance.
 
In addition to working at East Carolina, Hunt worked as a diving coach and summer camp counselor at the United States Naval Academy in 2014 and 2015. He assisted with camp operations and coached youth divers.

Hunt served as an admissions counselor at East Carolina from 2010-2012. He distributed information regarding East Carolina's admissions process to high school students and counselors. Hunt developed and maintained relationships between high schools and prospective students.

While he attained his master's degree from East Carolina, Hunt worked as a graduate assistant in the Department of Exercise and Sports Science. In that role, he developed class curriculum, evaluated students and taught students how to live an active and healthy lifestyle.

Hunt also interned as an assistant event manager for Exclusive Sports Marketing in Boca Raton, Florida. He coordinated events, promoted and advertised inventory and tournaments. Hunt also assisted with sales and marketing of the events.

Hunt received a bachelor's degree in sport studies with a minor in business from East Carolina in 2008. He earned his master's degree in exercise sports science with a concentration in sport management from East Carolina in 2011.

As a student-athlete, Hunt was a two-time All-Conference USA performer and a four-time NCAA Zone B Regional Championship participant. He served as team captain and was named the team's Most Outstanding Diver Award three times. Hunt currently holds the school record at East Carolina on the three-meter springboard for six dives and 11 dives.Â
