Godfrey Leads Tigers at CAA Pod Meet

FAIRFAX, Va. ? Led by a strong performance from senior Ryan Godfrey, the Tigers turned in a solid showing at a CAA Pod Meet hosted by George Mason University, which concluded with a pair of sessions on Saturday.

 

Godfrey finished second in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:12.79 in the morning session before turning in a time of 4:44.49 in the 500-yard freestyle.

 

“It was a good showing by the men's team with several personal and season bests,” Towson Coach Pat Mead said. “Ryan had the meet of his life this weekend for us, which was great to see.”

 

Sophomore Devin Kirby took second place in the 100-yard freestyle event with a time of 47.23 seconds while senior Gordon Amato finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.75.

 

Junior T.J. Farley finished fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:13.24 while freshman Wesley Foltz also had a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, completing the race in 1:58.91.   

 

Sophomore Brendan Magarity earned a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (1:56.56) in addition to a sixth place showing in the 400-yard individual medley (4:17.67).

 

The Tigers will be idle until November 15 when they face Maryland and UMBC in a double dual meet.
