Tigers Fall at UNC Wilmington 3-0

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Despite 10 kills from Alysha Fanning, the Tigers fell 3-0 at UNC Wilmington on Sunday afternoon in Colonial Athletic Association play. The Tigers (8-14, 1-6 CAA) dropped their seventh straight contest as the Seahawks (11-12, 2-5 CAA) hit .248 for the match.

The two teams battled through three ties and two lead changes in the first set before UNC Wilmington grabbed the 27-25 win. The Seahawks followed that up with a 25-19 win in the second set and clinched the match with a 25-16 victory in the third set.

Fanning hit .333 for the match and would add two service aces and three blocks. Katee Luecke finished with 24 assists and seven digs while Missy Rohrbaugh added a match-high 17 digs. Britney Loomis was the third member of the team to finish with double digit digs as she posted 13 to go with her four service aces and seven kills.

Lindsey Strucko led the Seahawks with 12 kills and 15 digs while Kimberly Friedl added 10 kills. Kelsey Bendig would finish with 29 assists and six digs while Ashlyn Morris finished with 15 digs.

Towson returns to action on Friday, October 23 at George Mason. The match in Fairfax, Va. is scheduled for 7 p.m.
