HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Tigers fell at Hofstra 3-1 on Friday evening in Colonial Athletic Association play. The Tigers (8-20, 1-12 CAA) got "double-double" performances from Amanda Halls and Katee Luecke.
"I was happy with our hitting tonight," said Coach Paul Koncir. "I thought both Alysha Fanning and Kelsey Hoefer did a tremendous job at the net tonight."
The Pride (13-18, 7-6 CAA) hit .371 in the first set and claimed a 25-19 win. The Tigers hit .357 in the second set to the Pride's .154 and claimed a 25-22 victory. The two squads battled through 18 ties in the third set before Hofstra posted a 29-27 victory. Hofstra took the match with a 25-15 win in the fourth set.
Halls and Hoefer both posted a career-high with 17 kills on the night. Halls would add 12 digs to record her second straight and fourth overall "double-double" on the year. Hoefer hit .310 for the match with four assists and three digs. Luecke had a season-high 42 assists and 11 digs as she posted a "double-double" for the second straight match. Fanning had nine kills and only one error in 15 attempts and hit .533. Missy Rohrbaugh had 23 digs for the Tigers.
Monica Knight led Hofstra with 23 kills and 13 digs while Chrissey Cruz posted 59 assists. Kylee Maneja finished with 18 digs while Anissa Whitney contributed 14 kills.
Towson finishes its season by traveling to Northeastern for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday afternoon.
