TOWSON, Md. ? The Tigers earned a 7-0 win at home against Howard on Thursday afternoon. The Tigers (3-4) received two wins on the day from Caitlin White and Lauren Cloonan.
The Tigers swept all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the afternoon. White and Cloonan set the tone with a 9-7 win over Alyssa Works and Michele Gee. At second doubles Aandria Carr and Ashley Peretz defeated Ashley Moore and Lauren Fen by a 9-7 margin. Evelyn Izaguirre and Katie Young were winners by default at third doubles.
White picked up her second win of the day with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at first singles. Cloonan was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Works at second singles. Carr earned a 4-6, 6-1 (12-10) victory at third singles against Gee. At fourth singles, Izaguirre defeated Whitney Ambush by a 6-0, 6-1 margin. Young defeated Fen, 6-0, 6-1 at fifth singles. Peretz earned a win by default at sixth singles.
The Tigers return to action on Sunday, March 15 against Rutgers in South Carolina to kick off their spring trip.
