NEWARK, Del. – Despite a victory by senior Drew Pallace in the 1000-yard freestyle, the Tigers were unable to earn their first win of 2010 as they dropped a 228-70 Colonial Athletic Association decision against the University of Delaware at the Rawstrom Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.
Pallace posted a career-best time of 9:52.63 to lead the Tigers in the 1000-yard freestyle event. He also helped the Tigers to second place finishes in the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays.
Senior Devin Kirby earned a win in the 50-yard freestyle by completing the event in 20.96 seconds and also swam the anchor leg in both of the Tigers' relays.
Senior T.J. Farley posted a third place effort in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.59 while sophomore Eric Sparks finished third in the 100-yard freestyle in 49.07 seconds.
Senior Bradley Bolin placed third in the one-meter diving event with a score of 230.17 points.
The Tigers will return to Burdick Pool for their first home meet of the season on Saturday afternoon when they host George Mason at 1 p.m.
