TOWSON, Md. - Freshman Wade Boarman earned a pair of individual victories, but visiting George Mason spoiled the Tigers' hopes of winning their home opener by posting a 183-106 Colonial Athletic Association decision at Burdick Pool on Saturday afternoon.
Boarman finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.21 seconds before winning the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:01.19.
Sophomore Wesley Foltz placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.28 seconds while adding a second place effort in the 1000-yard freestyle with a mark of 9:48.13. Sophomore Jim Buck was third in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:57.08.
The Tigers posted a sweep in the 200-yard individual medley. While Boarman won the event, Joe Mills earned second place with a time of 2:03.08 while Colin Bond followed in third place (2:08.89).
Senior Drew Pallace earned second place in the 500-yard freestyle (4:47.70) while sophomore Cory Ornstein followed by completing the event in 4 minutes, 55.45 seconds, good for third place. Pallace was also third in the 200-yard butterfly by touching the wall in 2:00.41.
Senior T.J. Farley and sophomore Eric Sparks placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard freestyle events, respectively.
The Tigers also placed first in both relay events.
Towson will return home next Saturday to host Loyola and James Madison in a double dual meet at Burdick Pool at 1 p.m.
