Tigers Fall to George Mason, 177-89

FAIRFAX, Va. - Junior Cory Ornstein finished first in the 500-yard freestyle, but it wasn't enough as the Tiger men's swimming and diving team dropped a 177-89 decision at George Mason University in a Colonial Athletic Association dual meet at the Jim McKay Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.

Ornstein, who was one of three Tigers to earn an individual victory, won the 500-yard freestyle by posting a time of 4:52.25.

Junior Wesley Foltz placed first in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:16.24 while also earning a second place effort in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:52.53).

Freshman Jacob Huston earned first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.78 seconds and also finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2 minutes, 14.13 seconds.

Junior Zac Jelinek finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (48.24) and 200-yard freestyle (1:45.18) events along with a third place result in the 50-yard freestyle (22.29).

Sophomore Joe Mills took second place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.44 while freshman Zack Stone was third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.65).

The Tigers also claimed first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:24.98.

Towson continues its road trip on Saturday afternoon with a dual meet against Loyola at 1 p.m. The meet will be held at James Madison University.
