TOWSON, Md. – After setting four meet records and winning the Potomac Relays last Friday to begin the season, the Towson University men's swimming and diving team begins the dual meet portion of their schedule on Saturday, Oct. 11 by hosting Georgetown and William & Mary at Burdick Pool.

The meet will begin with diving events at 10 a.m., followed by swimming events at 1 p.m.

"We are looking forward to kicking off the season with our first CAA competition this weekend," Head Coach
Pat Mead said. "William and Mary is one of the best, if not the best team in the CAA on both sides this year. Georgetown is remarkably a better program this year on both sides as well. Our teams will have to perform very well to pull off a win. I am excited to see how we handle the pressure and competition."Â

The Tigers earned victories in seven of the nine swimming events and recording four meet records at the Potomac Relays.

Matt Hans and
Matt Lowe partnered with
Zach Brech and
Nick Breschi to set a meet record in the 500-yard freestyle relay (4:04.57).

The Tiger duo of Lowe and
Tim Schade timed 9:18.49 in the 1000-yard freestyle relay to set a meet record.
Â
Breschi, Hans and Schade swam for a meet record in the 3x100 yard backstroke relay with a time of 2:35.80.

Matt McKenney timed 3:34.96 to set a meet record in the 400-yard medley relay.

Last season, Towson competed against these two teams at a dual meet, hosted by Georgetown. The Tigers defeated Georgetown 205-79 but fell to William & Mary 162-12. The William & Mary loss was one of only two for the Tigers on the season.

The Tigers will return to action on Oct. 25 as they travel to Old Dominion for a 1 p.m. meet.
