Tigers Welcome Elon for Homecoming on Saturday

WHEN: Saturday, November 1, 2014 -- Kickoff at 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: Johnny Unitas® Stadium (11,198) -- Towson, Md.
TV: American Sports Network (Carl Reuter, Micheal Young)
RADIO: CBS Sports Radio 1300 (Spiro Morekas, Ron Meehan)

STORYLINES
•Since 2011, Towson is 3-0 in games after a bye week. The Tigers defeated league foe William & Mary in both 2012 and 2013 after a bye week. In 2011, Towson topped Colgate after a bye to start the year 3-0. After Towson's bye week last season, the Tigers won five straight games and didn't lose again until the National Championship game.
•The Tigers are 20-8 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play over the last four seasons. This is Elon's first season in the CAA.
•Towson is 3-0 all-time against Elon, winning by an average of 14.6 points per game.
•Sophomore running back Darius Victor is averaging 110.8 yards per game in his last six outings. He's rushed for 100 or more yards in four of his last six games, including a 113-yard performance at Delaware in which he scored the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute to play. Victor's 194-yard rushing performance against North Carolina Central is the second most by a CAA player in a game this season.

The Series
•Saturday will be the fourth all-time meeting between Towson and Elon.
•The Tigers have won all three matchups by a combined 44 points.
•This will be the first meeting between the squads where each is a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) member.

Recipe For Success
•There are four common factors in each of Towson's three wins this season.
•The Tigers are 3-1 this year when they gain more yards than their opponent. Towson outgained Delaware in its last game, 329-305.
•Towson has also scored at least 20 points and held its opponent under 30 points in each win this season.
•Lastly, Towson has had a 100-yard rusher in each victory this season.

Frazier's Career Day
•Junior quarterback Connor Frazier completed 19 of 32 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns in Towson's comeback win at Delaware. The yards and touchdowns were both career-highs for the first-year starter.
•Frazier's 39-yard TD pass to Spencer Wilkins in the fourth quarter was Towson's longest pass play of the season.

Delaire Causing Havoc
•Senior defensive end Ryan Delaire recorded seven tackles, two sacks and forced a fumble in Towson's win at Delaware.
•Delaire leads the CAA and ranks fourth in the FCS with 10 sacks this season. He also ranks third in the league with 13 tackles for a loss.
•Delaire, who recorded a career-high tying three sacks against Maine earlier this season, is just eight sacks shy of tying Andrew Hollingsworth's single-season school record of 18 sacks

Victor Climbing the Ladder
•Entering today, Victor has 1,426 career rushing yards, ranking him 13th all-time at Towson. The sophomore is just 32 yards behind Mike Maloney for 12th place and 232 yards away from cracking the top-10.
•Victor leads the CAA in rushing TDs (8) and ranks 2nd in the league in rushing yards (797).
•The sophomore has already surpassed his rushing total (629 yards) and touchdown output from 2013 (7).

FCS & CAA Rankings
•Towson leads the CAA and ranks second nationally in the FCS in punt return average (22.0 yards per return).
•The Tigers rank second in the CAA and sixth in the FCS by allowing just 15.96 yards per kickoff return.
•Towson boats the fifth-best rushing attack in the CAA at 161.0 yards per game.
•The Tigers rank second in the CAA by allowing opponents to score just 73.5 percent of the time when they reach the red zone.
•Towson is one of the least penalized teams in the CAA, ranking third in the league by averaging just 43.4 penalty yards per game.
•Senior Derrick Joseph leads the CAA and ranks 10th nationally with 658 combined kickoff and punt return yards this season. His 21.5 yards per kickoff return ranks third among CAA players. Joseph also ran a punt back 81 yards for a touchdown at Delaware State.
•Sophomore running back Darius Victor ranks among the top-three in the CAA in rushing TDs (1st), rushing yards (2nd) and rushing yards per game (3rd).
•Junior Donnell Lewis ranks third in the CAA by averaging 5.6 solo tackles per game. His 15 total tackles at West Virginia are tied for the fourth most tackles in a game by a CAA player this season.

1969 Tiger Football Team Honored at Halftime
•Under the leadership of Carl Runk, Towson fielded its first college football team in 1969. Then Towson State College, the Tigers competed at the Division III level and went 4-4-1 in their first year of existence. In 1969 Runk had just 30 players on his roster and was unable to offer scholarships. Numerous members of that team will be honored during halftime of Saturday's game.

"The Gathering"
•"The Gathering", a roving family-friendly food truck festival, will be on hand in Lot 13 before Saturday's game.
•Tiger fans can stimulate their senses with American and international dishes, gourmet and eclectic fare, BBQ, vegetarian options and sweet and savory treats.
•It will also feature live music from the band 'All Rights Reserved' and a beer garden for those with valid identification.
•The tailgating event will run from 12-4 p.m. and is free for all fans with a game ticket.
•Without a game ticket, entrance to the lot will be $3 or fans can purchase specially priced $10 game tickets on-site that will allow them entrance into "The Gathering" and the football game.
•A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Tiger Athletic Fund.
