Looking at Our Opponents: James Madison comes into the weekend looking to snap a two-match losing streak. The Dukes fell to College of Charleston, 3-1 last time out. Janey Goodman tops the Dukes' offense with 224 kills and has added 46 blocks.
Lizzy Briones is adding 162 kills and 78 blocks.
William & Mary heads to Delaware on Friday before visiting the Tigers on Saturday. The Tribe earned their first CAA win of the year last time over Elon and in doing so snapped an 11-match losing streak in the process.
Stephanie Paul enters the week with 290 assists while
Gabrielle Pe has posted 216 digs.
Series History: Friday will be the 46th meeting all time between the Tigers and Dukes. James Madison holds a slim 23-22 edge in the match-up. Last year the two teams split the season series with each team winning on their home court.
The Tigers and Tribe will battle for the 31st time on Saturday. William & Mary has won 17 of the first 20 meetings between the two schools. The Tigers had won four straight in the series before getting swept last season.
History has Been Made: Senior
Paige Sekerak made history in Sunday's win over Northeastern. Sekerak's seventh dig of the match which came during the second set gave her 1,618 for her career. That broke
Stacy Humphries (1992-95) record of 1,617 career digs. Sekerak finished the match with 16 digs and now has 1,627 digs for her career.
Welcome to the Block Party: The Tigers finished with 12 team blocks in Sunday's win over Northeastern. Leading the way for the Tigers were sophomore
Lindsay Flaherty with seven blocks and senior
Victoria Williams with six blocks. Five Tigers recorded at least one block solo or block assist in the match. Towson is now 6-0 this season when it records 10 or more team blocks in a match.
Aces For Autism: During the 2014 season, the Towson University volleyball team will be raising funds for the advocacy, support, and education of those living and loving on the autism spectrum. Fans can participate in the fundraising efforts for "ACES for AUTISM" by inviting family, friends, neighbors, business associates, fellow students, teachers, local vendors, merchants, or just about anyone. Pledges can be made in either a flat amount using the donation boxes fans will find on the mezzanine level in SECU Arena or take the TU Team Challenge and pledge per Towson kill, block, dig, assist, or ace season totals.
