TOWSON, Md. - Playing in their first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament match, the Towson women's soccer team faces No. 3-seeded Hofstra Pride on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. in Hempstead, N.Y.
Updating the Tigers: Towson finished the 2014 regular season with a 3-0-2 record in the Tigers' final five matches. TU got two critical wins on the weekend of Oct. 24-26, defeating Elon 2-0 before handing William & Mary a 2-0 loss for the Tigers' first win over the Tribe. That victory also sent Towson to the CAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Seniors

Marissa Green tallied goals against the Tribe. Ponce leads the Tigers with six goals and one assist for 13 points. Senior

Series history vs. Hofstra (Hofstra leads, 17-3-1): This series dates back to 1996 with Hofstra in the lead, 17-3-1. The Tigers won the first two matchups in 1996 and 1997, and barring the draw in 2001 in the America East Tournament after which Hofstra advanced penalty kicks and the 3-2 Towson win in 2011 at home, it has been all Pride since - including the teams' last meeting.
The winner of the match will advance to the CAA semifinals against No. 2 James Madison, held at No. 1 Northeastern on Nov. 7. Game time is TBA.
