TOWSON, Md. – Sophomore running back
Darius Victor recorded his eighth 100-yard rushing performance of the season, but it wasn't enough as Towson fell, 37-14, to No. 24/23 William & Mary on Saturday afternoon at Johnny Unitas® Stadium.
Victor finished the game with 136 rushing yards on 22 carries and he posted his 11
th touchdown of the season. The performance puts Victor at 1,880 career rushing yards and helped him pass
Larry Jones (1,868) and
Dan Ricker (1,876) for eighth place on the Tigers all-time rushing list.
William & Mary, which snapped a three-game losing streak to Towson, improves to 7-4 overall and 4-3 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play. Tribe running back
Mikal Abdul-Saboor rushed for 141 yards and three first-half touchdowns in the victory.
Towson, which had won two of its last three games entering Saturday, falls to 4-7 overall and 2-5 in league play.
Turnovers were the story of the game as each team posted an identical 307 yards of total offense. However, the Tigers had four turnovers to zero for the Tribe.
Towson fell behind 21-0 before Victor capped a 12-play, 75-yard drive in the second quarter with a six-yard scoring run. William & Mary would add another score to go into halftime with a 28-7 lead.
The Tigers received the opening kickoff of the second half, but senior
Derrick Joseph fumbled the ball after running it back 37 yards. Towson's defense held William & Mary to just two field goals in the third quarter, but still trailed 34-7 entering the final period of play.

Connor Frazier hit
Tanner Vallely for a 31-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter to make it 34-14. For Vallely, it was his third receiving touchdown of the season. However, the Tigers would get no closer the rest of the way.
Joseph finished with a game-high seven receptions for 64 yards. Sophomore
Eric Handy paced the defense with 11 tackles, while senior
Tye Smith made 10 stops.
The 13 Tiger seniors who played their final home game on Saturday were honored before the game. Over the last four years, Towson has won 33 games, one win shy of the school record for most wins in a four year span.
Towson closes out the 2014 season next Saturday at Rhode Island. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m.
