Kenworthy Named Senior Assistant Athletic Trainer

Served on Tiger Staff from 2011 to 2013

TOWSON, Md. – Tiffany Kenworthy, who spent last year working for MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital, has been named a senior assistant athletic trainer for Towson University, Director of Sports Medicine Nathan Wilder announced.
"Tiffany brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Towson University," said Wilder. "We are excited to have her in our department."

Kenworthy worked as an athletic trainer/physician extender for MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital last year. There she served as the athletic trainer for Walter Johnson High School. She covered home games and practices for all the teams. Kenworthy provided injury evaluation, IMPACT testing and maintained records. She also assisted the physician with patient care and record keeping.

Prior to her work at MedStar, Kenworthy served as a senior assistant athletic trainer for the Tigers from September 2011 to July 2013. During that stint at Towson, she was responsible for the men's and women's swimming and diving teams along with the sports club teams. Kenworthy maintained the day-to-day operations of the Burdick Hall athletic training room. That involved record keeping, injury evaluation, game and practice coverage and teaching first aid/CPR for the sport club officers.

Kenworthy also worked as an adjunct professor for the kinesiology department while at Towson. She taught a biomechanics class and also worked with the health science department to teach an emergency safety and CPR class.

Before coming to Towson, Kenworthy was a sales advisor and claims coordinator for Trustway T.E.A.M Services. In that role, she held responsibilities in the state of Florida for sales of secondary athletic insurance, domestic and international student athletic insurance among other products to help in risk management for colleges and universities.

Kenworthy has also served as an athletic trainer at Georgetown, Maryland and Furman.

She earned a Master's of Education in guidance and counseling from Clemson in August of 2003. Kenworthy earned her undergraduate degree from Charleston Southern in 2001.
