A look at UMBC going into Friday's match
UMBC faces Mount St. Mary's on Friday, Sept. 12 in the game that precedes the Towson-Loyola showdown. The Retrievers fell for the first time this season and the first time in 13 tries at home on Friday, Sept. 5 against Saint Joseph's. UMBC held the slight edge in shots, with nine, but the Hawks punched home the game's only goal in the 62nd minute to snag the victory. The loss knocked the Retrievers out of the NSCAA/Continental Tire regional rankings.

Freshman forward Lisa Nanov leads the squad with nine shots and five points on the season. Nanov's two goals are tied with senior midfielder Lilly Rydon for a team-best. The Retrievers have registered six assists on their seven goals this season. UMBC is averaging 1.40 goals per game, while holding opponents to 0.80 goals per contest. Junior goalkeeper Jen Nance has posted a pair of shutouts on the year and has totaled 24 saves.
