WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Towson men's swimming and diving team defeated Georgetown 180-118 in dual meet action on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers won 12 events and had 25 top-three event finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED- The freshman class impressed in the 1000-yard freestyle, winning the event and sweeping fourth through sixth-place. Will Dougherty won the event with a time of 9:38.03. Andrew Snyder (4th, 10:03.20), Aaron Magazine (5th, 10:08.14) and Ben Johnston (6th, 10:09.12) rounded out the Tiger competitors.
- Junior Nick Breschi won the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.07) followed by Brandon Ress in second-place (1:44.23).
- Breschi earned a victory in the 500-yard freestyle as well, timing 4:46.48. Magazine finished third (4:48.33) in the event.
- The 100-yard backstroke was an impressive event for the Tigers and senior Matt McKenney and junior Matt Hans tied for first-place with matching times of 53.59.
- Hans was victorious in the 100-yard butterfly (51.02) while McKenney placed second in the event with a time of 51.29.
- McKenney also won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.84, followed by senior Zach Brech in second-place (22.04).
- Brech took first-place in the 100-yard freestyle (47.79).
- Towson won the 100-yard breaststroke as junior Jeremy Liu timed 59.65. Senior Joel Todd finished third (1:01.25) followed by freshman Stefan Keller in fourth-place (1:01.05).
- Liu also won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:09.90. Keller and Todd rounded out the top-three for the event, finishing second (2:11.48) and third (2:13.34), respectively.
- Junior Tim Schade won the 200-yard individual medley in 1:59.21, followed by Keller in second-place (1:59.51).
- The Tigers took first and second-place in the 200-yard backstroke, led by sophomore Colin Roddy who timed 1:56.75. Schade was the runner-up with a time of 1:57.27.
- Junior Noah Pritchard was the runner-up in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:56.29.
- Towson was impressive in the 400-yard freestyle relay, winning the event and also finishing as the runner-up. Breschi, Hans, freshman Jack Saunderson and Dougherty combined for a time of 2:46.02. The second-place relay team of Johnston, sophomore Matt Seiffert, Pritchard and junior Mike Johnson timed 2:53.79.
- The Tigers placed second in the 200-yard medley relay as Breschi, Liu, McKenney and Hans combined for a time of 1:50.54.
- In the diving events, Jake Casey finished fourth in the one-meter (206.25) and fourth in the three-meter (169.50).

Towson continues its dual meet season at George Mason with CAA foe Drexel in a two-day meet from Oct. 30-31.
