Men’s Basketball Signs Three

TOWSON, Md. – Towson head basketball coach Pat Skerry has announced the signing of Justin Gorham, Zane Martin and J.J. Matthews to National Letter's of Intent to attend the University and begin playing for the Tigers in the fall of 2016.

"I am thrilled with the class we have signed.  They will represent our University and our program very well," said Skerry.  "It is a talented class that fills our needs and all three guys will make an impact immediately.

"Our assistant coaches, Jim McCarthy, Bruce Shingler and Kevin Clark, and our staff did an amazing job in showing these signees that Towson University, its athletic programs and men's basketball is a first-rate place to be a student-athlete.  We cannot wait for these young men to arrive on campus."

McCarthy was the lead recruiter in the signing of Gorham and Martin, while Shingler was the lead recruiter on Matthews.

"Justin is a versatile forward who can affect the game in a variety of ways," said Skerry.  "He can rebound, make threes, handle the ball and defend multiple positions.  He comes from a great high school program at nearby Calvert Hall and Coach John Bauersfeld.  I'm very excited about his potential."

Zane Martin, G, 6-4, 190, Philadelphia, Pa. (Ss. Neumann-Goretti H.S.)

"Zane is a strong and physical combo guard," said Skerry.  "He can score the ball and I'm very impressed with his ability to make plays for his teammates.  He won a state championship last year playing for Carl Arrigale at Neumann-Goretti High School and knows what it takes to win games in a competitive environment."
