Tigers Host James Madison Friday Night

One Last Weekend: The Tigers have reached the final weekend of the regular season. Towson hosts James Madison on Friday, Nov. 13 in their final home match of the regular season. The Tigers will honor their four seniors before the match. Towson then closes out the regular season by visiting Delaware State on Sunday, Nov. 15.

Tiger Tracks: The Tigers split their two matches last weekend, falling at Hofstra but bouncing back to defeat Northeastern. Freshman Jocelyn Kuilan leads the Towson attack with 385 kills, 34 service aces and 50 blocks. Senior Haley Pa'akaula has contributed 356 kills and 355 digs. Seniors Aimee Schubert and Kyana Miller continue to split the setting duties. Schuber has posted 778 assists and 23 service aces while Miller has 585 assists and 200 digs. Redshirt freshman Anna Holehouse has a team-high 555 digs while junior Lindsay Flaherty has a team-best 94 blocks.

Scouting the Opponents: James Madison snapped a three-match losing streak with a 3-1 win at Hofstra, last time out. Janey Goodman leads the Dukes with 419 kills, 254 digs and 84 blocks. Meghan Niski has contributed 250 kills and 246 digs. Sarah Patterson has dished out 1,085 assists to go along with 32 service aces while Taylor Austin has contributed 497 digs.

Delaware State will host Hampton on Friday before welcoming the Tigers on Sunday. The Hornets are 2-24 on the year after a 3-0 loss to Norfolk State on Wednesday night. Jasime Jackson leads the Hornets with 293 kills and 249 digs while Alliyah McBean enters the weekend with 267 digs.

Series History: Towson and the Dukes are meeting for the 50th time. James Madison holds a slim 25-24 edge in the series and has won two straight following a 3-2 victory when the two teams met in Harrisonburg in the CAA opener.

The Tigers lead the all-time series with Delaware State 10-0 following a 3-0 victory in the opening weekend of the season. In that match Jocelyn Kuilan had 18 kills.

Thank You Seniors: Friday's contest marks the final regular season home match for the Tigers' four seniors. Haley Pa'akaula, Aimee Schubert, Kyana Miller and Sarah Smith will be honored before the match with James Madison. The four players have led the Tigers to 86 wins and a pair of CAA Tournament appearances. These four will lead the Tigers into the CAA Tournament next weekend.

Battling For A Spot: This weekend is a crucial one for the Tigers as CAA play comes to an end. The right to host the CAA Tournament and how the top four seeds will shake out will be determined by this weekend's action. A win over James Madison would put the Tigers in position to grab  one of the top two spots. Make sure to check back with TowsonTigers.com for all the details as they become available.

Welcome to the Block Party: The Tigers had another big match at the net in their win over Northeastern last Sunday. Towson recorded a season-high 12 team blocks as six Tigers recorded at least two blocks in the match. Redshirt junior Candace Steadman had a season-high seven blocks in the win. The Tigers are 6-0 this season when they record 10 or more team blocks in the match. The Tigers are 17-4 all-time under head coach Don Metil when they record 10 or more team blocks in a match.

Kill Machine: Freshman Jocelyn Kuilan had 27 kills in two matches last weekend and now has 385 kills for the season. Kuilan currently ranks 12th on the single-season kills list at Towson and is the first freshman in program history with over 360 kills in a single-season.

Up Next: Following this weekend's action, the Tigers are back in action when the CAA Tournament kicks off. If the Tigers are the three or the four seed, their tournament run would begin Friday, Nov. 20. If the Tigers can get either the one or the two seed, they would receive a bye on the first day of action and would begin their tournament run on Saturday, Nov. 21.
