ORLANDO, Fla. – The Towson University softball team fell to No. 8/8 Georgia by a final score of 16-0 in five innings on Thursday evening at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. Georgia (13-2) relied on strong offensive power, including a six-run third inning to push past the Tigers (5-2).

The Bulldogs had 10 different players score on 19 hits while pitcher
Chelsea Wilkinson held the Tigers to just three hits and struck out four batters in three innings
. Brittany Gray came on in relief action and struck out three Tigers and did not surrender a hit in the final two innings.

Towson freshman pitcher
Megan Dejter gave up 10 runs on 12 hits in the first three innings. She allowed only one walk in 22 at-bats and recorded a strikeout in the game. Senior
Missy McCormick pitched the final two innings and gave up the final six runs.

Senior designated player
Macie McGeehan had the Tigers' first hit of the game in the second inning. She singled to right field before advancing to second on a passed ball but could not be brought home.

Senior second baseman
Hailey Balk singled to left field in the third inning to get on base. She advanced to second after freshman shortstop
Brook Miko singled to left center but both Tigers were left stranded.

The Tigers will face University of Alabama Birmingham tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. before battling Miami University (Ohio) at 1:15 p.m.
