Men's Basketball Hosts Autism Awareness Game

Story Lines
Towson returns to SECU Arena for a game against James Madison.  The game is set to tip at 2 p.m. and can be seen live on Comcast SportsNet.

Saturday's game is the Autism Awareness game.  Coaches throughout the country will be wearing blue puzzle piece pins to help raise awareness.

The first 500 students in attendance will receive a $5 conession voucher.

Towson will be wearing special light blue uniforms and shoes in honor of autism awareness.  Special thanks to Under Armour for providing these special uniforms.

Towson and James Madison are meeting for the second time this season.  The two teams met in the conference opener on Jan. 3, with the Dukes winning 61-52.

Towson freshman Mike Morsell, the reigning CAA Rookie of the Week, has scored in double figures in three-straight games.  He had just one double-digit scoring game before being inserted into the starting lineup.  Over the last five games, Morsell is averaging 10.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.

CAA Tournament Tickets

CAA Wins Since 2012-13 Season
Since the start of the 2012-13 season, Towson has the second most Colonial Athletic Association victories.  The Tigers are 30-15 over that span.

2015 Charleston Classic
Towson has been selected to participate in the 2015 Gildan Charleston Classic on Nov. 19-22, 2015.  Other teams in the tournament include Bradley, George Mason, Long Beach State, Mississippi, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall and Virginia.

vs. James Madison
The Tigers are 14-28 against the Dukes.  Towson had won three-straight meetings before falling on the road to JMU earlier this season.  The Tigers are 9-10 in games played in Towson.

Earlier vs James Madison
The two teams met Jan. 3 in Harrisonburg, Va.  JMU jumped out to an early held and held off a Tigers run for a 62-52 victory.

Autism Awareness
Saturday's game will be the annual Autism Awareness game.  Autism groups will be on the concourse to help raise awareness of autism.  According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1-in-68 American children are on the autism spectrum.

Coaches Powering Forward
This year, coaches from around the country will be raising money for autism through Coaches Powering Forward for Autism benefiting Autism Speaks.  Coaches will also be wearing the blue puzzle piece pin on their suit jackets during the games this weekend.

Blue Uniforms
With the support from under armour, Towson will wear light blue uniforms against James Madison in support of autism.  The team will also be wearing blue shoes.

Experience
The 2014-15 Tigers are gaining their experience on the fly.  This season, Towson ranks as the 312th most experienced team in NCAA Division I.  The Tigers have six freshman and sophomores averaging at least 15 minutes a game.

Freshman Surge
Towson's freshman have been growing up before your eyes.  The trio of Byron Hawkins, Eddie Keith II and Mike Morsell have continued to receive expanded roles as the season as progressed.  Hawkins and Morsell are currently in the starting lineup, while Keith II is one of the first players off the bench.

Morsell Earns CAA Honor
Freshman Mike Morsell was named the CAA Rookie of the Week after averaging 14.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks in a pair of wins against College of Charleston and Hofstra.  He had a career-best 15 points and six rebounds in the victory over CofC.
