Megan Whittle scored six goals to lead the No. 1 University of Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 17-2 win over the Towson University women's lacrosse team on Wednesday night in Johnny Unitas ® Stadium. Sophomore attacker
Gabby Cha scored both goals for the Tigers in the win.

The Terrapins scored the first six goals of the game and held the advantage with 13:41 to play in the first. Whittle scored twice for Maryland (6-0) during that run while
Taylor Cummings and
Alice Mercer each had a goal and an assist.
Towson got on the board at 13:04 as Cha scored off a pass from redshirt senior attacker
Andi Raymond.
Taylor Hensh gave Maryland a 7-1 lead at 4:48 with her goal. Cha scored her second of the game with 3:22 to play in the first half off a pass from freshman attacker
Jenna Kerr. Maryland scored one more time before the break and took an 8-2 lead at the half.
Towson outshot the Terps 14-12 in the first half and won seven of the 11 draw controls.
The Terps outscored the Tigers 9-0 in the second stanza to secure the 17-2 win. Whittle scored four times, including three in a row to lead the Maryland offensive charge. Cummings added a goal and two assists while
Zoe Stukenberg had two goals.
Maryland outshot the Tigers 15-6 in the second half and finished the game with a 27-20 edge in shots. Towson won six of the 10 second half draw controls and finished the contest with a 13-8 edge in that category. Hamm had a career-high seven draw controls for the Tigers in the game.
Alex Fitzpatrick made 10 saves in goal to earn the win for Maryland.
Kelsea Donnelly made six saves in goal for the Tigers.
The Tigers are back in action when they host No. 2 North Carolina on Sunday, March 15 at 12 noon.
