HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Despite two home runs by the Tigers, a seventh inning grand slam from Hofstra's second baseman
Lacey Clark lifted the Pride over the Tigers 7-3 on Saturday afternoon in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) matchup.

Holiday Cahill and sophomore designated player
Tateum Valentine both recorded home runs for Towson (10-12, 0-4 CAA).
The Pride's rightfielder
Brielle Pietrafesa drove in two runs in the second inning to give Hofstra (13-7-1, 4-0 CAA) an early lead.
The Tigers responded in the fourth inning when Cahill blasted a two-run homer to left-center.
The Pride regained the lead in the fifth thanks to a RBI single by first baseman
Brittany Allocca that drove in third baseman
Kim Smith.
Valentine hit her first home run of the season in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at three runs apiece.
Hofstra used two walks and an error by centerfielder
Kendyl Scott to load the bases in the bottom of the seventh with one out. Clark clinched the Pride's win after she hit a grand slam that scored Allocca, catcher
Erin Trippi and outfielder
Caryn Bailey.
Freshman shortstop
Brook Miko recorded one of the Tigers' four hits in the game to continue her team-high 10 game hit streak. The Tigers saw hits from sophomore leftfielder
Olivia Yarbrough, Cahill and Valentine. Junior first baseman
Ambar Hickman had a team-high 10 putouts for the Tigers.
Megan Dejter (3-5) allowed seven runs and eight hits in the loss to the Pride. She struck out four batters and had five walks during the 6.1 innings pitched.
Morgan Lashley (9-1) gave up three runs and four hits in the win. She recorded 12 strikeouts and gave up only four walks over the 7.0 innings.
The Tigers and Pride were originally scheduled to play a second game on Saturday afternoon but weather postponed the game. The teams will now play a doubleheader on Sunday starting at noon.
