FARGO, N.D. – Senior
Haley Pa'akaula posted her second straight double-double to lead the Towson University volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Milwaukee on day two of the North Dakota State Tournament Saturday morning. The Tigers (6-1) ran their win streak to six straight contests with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED- The Tigers and Panthers (2-4) battled early and found themselves tied at 17-17 following a block from freshman Carola Biver and junior Lindsay Flaherty. That was part of a 4-0 run that gave Towson a 20-17 lead. Biver had a block and a kill during the run. The two teams continued to fight for each point before a bad set by Milwaukee gave the Tigers a 25-19 set victory.
- Towson hit .345 in the set as redshirt senior Aimee Schubert dished out 10 assists.
- Towson took a 12-4 lead in the second set on a kill from junior Jessica Lewis. The two teams battled and a block from Milwaukee tied the set at 17-17. The two teams fought through five ties down the stretch before back-to-back kills from Maddie Williams helped Milwaukee take the second set 25-22. The Panthers' set win tied the match at 1-1.
- Milwaukee hit .205 to the Tigers' .098 clip in the set while Williams had four kills.
- A kill from Lewis helped the Tigers open up a 10-4 lead in the third set. A service ace from Flaherty extended the Towson advantage to 16-8. Back-to-back kills from redshirt junior Candace Steadman made it 21-11 in the set. A kill from Flaherty gave Towson a 25-15 set win and a 2-1 lead in the match. Â
- Towson hit .381 in the set as Pa'akaula had two kills and four digs.
- With the fourth set tied at 8-8, a kill from Steadman put the Tigers back on top. The two teams continued to battle and found themselves tied at 16-16. A kill from Steadman gave the Tigers a lead they would not relinquish. A kill from Flaherty sealed a 25-20 set win and gave Towson the win.
- The Tigers hit .350 in the set as Pa'akaula had six kills while Steadman added four kills.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE- Pa'akaula had 14 kills and 10 digs for her second straight double-double and third of the season.
- Flaherty was a perfect 8-for-8 on attack attempts and had a 1.000 hitting percentage.
- Redshirt freshman Anna Holehouse had 22 digs and two service aces.
The Tigers return to action when they wrap up the tournament by facing Utah Valley at 5 p.m. (EST).
