I'm Honored: Towson senior
Jessica Lewis was named the CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday by the league office. Lewis, who shared the honor with
Nicole Lott of UNCW, was honored by the league for the third time this season. Lewis finished the week with 35 kills (5.00 per set) while hitting .419 in seven sets. She also contributed 19 digs (2.71 per set) with three service aces, two assists and two blocks. Lewis finished the week with a team-high 39 points.
400 and Counting: Senior
Lindsay Flaherty reached a career milestone for the Tigers over the weekend. Her first block against William & Mary gave her 400 for her career. Flaherty, who now has 402 career blocks, became the sixth player in program history to reach the 400 block plateau. She became the first Tiger since
Alysha Fanning in 2009 to reach the mark and needs 19 more blocks to move past Fanning and into fourth place on the list.
Defense at the Net: One of the keys to success for the Tigers this season has been their ability to limit opponents' success at the net. The Tigers are holding opponents to a .129 hitting percentage this season. Towson held all three of its opponents to an under .200 hitting percentage last week.
Towson has now held 18 of 23 opponents to a hitting percetnage under .200 this season. Towson has held opponents to a hitting percentage under .100 nine times this season. Towson leads the CAA and ranks second nationally in that category.
Can You Dig It: Redshirt sophomore
Anna Holehouse hit a career milestone in Sunday's win over William & Mary. Holehouse recorded her 900th career dig in just her 52nd match. She has 910 career digs entertaining play this week and needs 90 more to become the 15th player in school history with 1,000 career digs.
Up Next: The Tigers return to SECU Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 26 to host Delaware at 7 p.m.
