Story Lines
The Tigers close out the 2016 season as they travel to take on Rhode Island.  Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Meade Stadium.

Towson is looking to end the season on a three-game winning streak.  It would be the longest since the team won four straight to close out the 2012 campaign.

Running back Shane Simpson earned his second-straight CAA Rookie of the Week honor after rushing for a career-best 202 yards and a touchdown against William & Mary.  He became just the second freshman to rush for over 200 yards in a game.  The only other time it happened was when Terrance West ran for 261 yards against New Hampshire in 2011.

Freshman Aidan O'Neill kicked a pair of field goals in the win over William & Mary.  He now has 14 field goals on the season, tying Sean Landetta for the single-season record.  Landetta's 14 field goals in 1980 led the NCAA.

Simpson Eyes Kick Return Yardage Record
Shane Simpson is just 29 yards shy of passing Hakeem Moore's single-season record for kickoff return yards.  Simpson currently has 815 return yards.  He already holds the single-game return yardage record, as well as tying the record with a 100 yard return.

Simpson Joins 200 Club
Shane Simpson became just the second freshman in school history to rush for over 200 yards when he ran for 202 yards against William & Mary.  He joins Terrance West (261 yards vs. UNH, 2011) as the only backs to eclipse 200 yards in their freshman seasons.  Simpson now holds two of the top four single-game freshman rushing totals.

Another Kick Return TD
William & Mary's plan to kick short against the Tigers backfired as upback Keon Paye scooped up the squib kick and returned it 81 yards for a touchdown.  He is the second Tiger to return a kick for a touchdown this season, marking the first time since joining the CAA the Tigers had two players return a kickoff for a touchdown in the same season.

O'Neill Ties Field Goal Record
Freshman Aidan O'Neill added his name to the record books as he converted his 14th field goal of the season.  That total ties the single-season mark set by Sean Landetta in 1980.

Defense Records 5 Sacks
The Tiger defense had five different players record a sack against William & Mary.  It was the first time the Tigers had five sacks since 2015 against Saint Francis, and the first time they had five players record a sack since Delaware State in 2013.
