Unbeaten Towson Set For Trip To No. 24 Maryland

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team has a 13-1 record against in-state opponents since the start of the 2013-14 season. Towson has five straight wins against in-state opponents going into its game against 24th-ranked Maryland.
 
Towson has also won eight straight games against opponents from the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia (DMV)-region after opening its season with wins over George Mason and Morgan State.
 
The Tigers have had three winning seasons in the last four years. Towson has won at least 20 games in two of the last three years. Towson has a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) leading 42 conference victories and 77 overall wins since the start of the 2012-13 season.

A Look At Maryland
The Terps are ranked 24th in the USA Today Coaches Poll and are receiving votes in the Associated Press poll. Damonte Dodd had 13 points and 10 rebounds to help Maryland beat Division III St. Mary's (Md.), 93-45 on Thursday night. Melo Trimble leads the Terps in scoring (17.0). Also averaging double figures for Maryland is Anthony Cowan (10.3 ppg.). Justin Jackson is Maryland's top rebounder (8.7). The Terps average 43 rebounds per outing.

Busy Week For Towson
This contest begins Towson's busiest stretch of the season. After playing Maryland, Towson will fly to Boston on Monday, play Boston College on Tuesday night, fly home Wednesday, enjoy Thanksgiving, and hit the court again for home games against Stony Brook on Friday and either Hampton or Robert Morris on Saturday.
 
NCAA Tournament Tests
Two of Towson's next three games are against teams that participated in last season's NCAA tournament. Maryland advanced to the Sweet 16 and Stony Brook lost to Kentucky in the first round. That total could increase to three if Hampton and Towson play on Saturday. Hampton lost to Virginia in the first round.
 
Autism Awareness Game
Towson will host William & Mary in its third annual Autism Awareness Game on Saturday, Feb. 4.
 
Up Next
Towson ends its four-game road trip by visiting Boston College on Tuesday at the Conte Forum. The game begins at 7 p.m. and can be seen on the ACC Network. It will be the first meeting in program history between the two schools. It'll be Towson's first game against an ACC school since it played Virginia in 2011.
