Towson Excited To Host Barclays Center Classic

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team will finally enjoy the comforts of home as it plays six straight game in its friendly confines beginning with Stony Brook Friday night at SECU Arena in the opening game of a Barclays Center Classic doubleheader.

Barclays Center Classic Overview
The bracketed version of the tournament is being held at two different sites: SECU Arena and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Each team will be playing four games in seven days. Towson and Stony Brook played Boston College and Maryland on the road while Hampton and Robert Morris visited Kansas State and Richmond. In Brooklyn, Maryland, Boston College, Kansas State, and Richmond will battle in a two-day tournament.
 
A Look At Stony Brook
The Seawolves are under the direction of new head coach Jeff Boals…..Stony Brook has opened the season with a home loss to Columbia and a pair of road losses to Maryland and Boston College … Tyrell Studivant leads four players in double figures, averaging 15.3 points and a team-best 9.0 rebounds per game …Akwasi Yeboah (11.0 ppg), Luca Woodhouse (10.7), and Roland Nyama (10.3) all average double figures for the Seawolves … Woodhouse led Stony Brook in its loss to Maryland with 14 points.
 
20-20 Club
For the second time in four games this season, Mike Morsell and Arnaud William Adala Moto scored 20 or more points in the same game. They have scored at least 20 points in the same game against George Mason and Boston College.
 
SECU Success
Towson is 33-13 all-time at SECU Arena. The Tigers enter the season with a three-game home winning streak. The Tigers will begin play in their four-year playpen on November 25 when it hosts Stony Brook in the Barclays Classic. Towson is 3-0 all time in home openers at SECU Arena beating Navy 72-45 in 2013, beating Goucher 97-43 in 2014 and beating Morgan State 69-61 in 2015.
 
Energetic Davis
In Towson's last three games, John Davis is averaging 9.6 points per game in his role off the bench for Towson. He scored 10 points each against Maryland and Morgan State. Davis scored nine points against Boston College.
