QUOTABLE- "It's exciting to see some of our freshmen making impacts on the field," said Towson Head Coach Sonia LaMonica. "I'm really pleased with Angie's performance both in the cage and out of it. She's getting settled into the position now and making some great stops when we need them. I think it's pretty cool to have a freshman score the game winning goal in overtime. What a confidence builder for Carly. Katie is showing she can be very dangerous in transition and I'm excited to see her build on that this season."
- LaMonica added, "Samantha Brookhart stepped up and had a pivotal play on the draw control in overtime, an area we always seemed to be a step behind in during the first half. I'm really proud of her for making that happen. We escaped Jacksonville with a win today. There are some things we simply have to tidy up and do a better job of if we want to make a run this season. There's still a lot of lacrosse to be played though and I'm confident we'll get there."
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE- The game was the first for the Tigers since the rule change that made overtime into "golden goal."
- Jacksonville dominated the draw controls in the first half, winning 10 of the 14 draws. The Tigers won the final seven draw controls in the game including the key overtime draw.
