TOWSON, Md. – The Towson women's tennis team travels to in-state rival Navy on Sunday, Feb. 28 for a 10 a.m. matchup.
Towson improved to 5-2 on the season after sweeping Mount St. Mary's with a 7-0 score. The Tigers earned straight set wins in all six singles matches, led by sophomore
Barbora Vasilkova at No. 1 singles.
Vasilkova has won eight-straight singles matches to improve to 12-4 on the season. She has yet to drop a match in dual matches for the Tigers, splitting the majority between No. 2 and No. 3 singles for a 7-0 record.
Navy is 8-5 on the season with a 6-1 win over Florida A&M last time out.
Freshman
Carlee Conway earned Patriot League Female Tennis Player of the Week honors after winning at No. 1 singles against Florida A&M for her 11th-straight singles victory. She improved to 13-3 on the season in singles play.
Towson welcomes Duquesne for an afternoon matchup on Friday, March 4. The Tigers and Dukes face off at noon at the Green Spring Racquet Club in Lutherville, Maryland.
