TOWSON, Md. – Towson University senior running back Darius Victor was named to the 2016 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) FCS National Player of the Year watch list, announced by the organization Tuesday.  Victor is one of 40 players named to the watch list.
 
This marks the second national watch list for Victor this preseason as he was also named to the STATS FCS National Offensive Player of the Year watch list earlier this month.
 
A preseason All-CAA selection, Victor is looking to become just the second Tiger to rush for over 1,000 yards in three-straight seasons.  Despite being hampered by injuries for most of the 2015 season, Victor managed to rush for 1,021 yards and 15 touchdowns.  He had four 100-yard performances, including a career-high 207 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over Holy Cross.
 
As a sophomore in 2014, Victor recorded eight 100-yard performances on his way to 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.  He was the 2013 CAA Rookie of the Year after rushing for 629 yards and seven touchdowns in 2013.
 
Victor enters his final season ranked fourth on the all-time rushing list with 2,955 yards.  He also ranks second in rushing touchdowns (34), fourth in rushing attempts (555) and fourth with 13 career 100-yard rushing performances.
 
The Tigers continue preparation for the 2016 season opener at USF on Sept. 3.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN3 and the American Sports Network.
