ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Towson University men's swimming and diving program split duals at Navy's tri-meet with Johns Hopkins on Wednesday evening. The Tigers defeated the Blue Jays, 181-107, but fell to the host Mids, 162-133.
Towson won five events and had 25 top-five finishes at the meet, as
Jack Saunderson and
Jeremy Liu both won two events each.

How it Happened
- Jack Saunderson won the 200-yard butterfly in 1:50.59. He won the 100-yard butterfly event in 49.58.
- Nick Breschi won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:51.74. Zach Bishop placed fourth (1:54.96).
- The Tigers impressed in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing three swimmers in the top five. Jeremy Liu won the event in a season-best 2:03.34. Stefan Keller finished fourth (2:07.75) and Ryan O'Leary followed in fifth-place (2:08.45).
- Towson had two top-three finishers in the 100-yard breaststroke. Jeremy Liu won the event in 57.47, followed by Ryan O'Leary in third-place (57.85).
- Nick Breschi took second in the 100-yard backstroke, timing 51.03.
- Nick Essing and Matt Essing were both top-five finishers in the 50-yard freestyle. Nick was the runner-up, timing 21.32, followed by Matt in fourth-place (21.72).
- Evan Brophy was the runner-up in the 1,000-yard freestyle, timing a season-best 9:33.17. Matt Sieffert finished fourth in the event with a season-best time of 9:37.15.
- Evan Brophy finished third in the 500-yard freestyle (4:36.97) while Matt Sieffert placed fifth (4:40.63).
- Brandon Ress timed 1:42.13 in the 200-yard freestyle to place fourth overall.
- Colin Roddy timed 1:57.42 in the 200-yard individual medley for a fourth-place finish.
- Nick Essing took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.65.
- Jake Casey scored 186.90 on the one-meter boards to finish fifth. He also placed fifth on the three-meter boards with a score of 173.40.
- The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Nick Breschi, Nick Essing, Jack Saunderson and Matt Essing finished second with a time of 1:25.76.
- The Tigers earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. Nick Breschi, Ryan O'Leary, Jack Saunderson and Nick Essing combined for a time of 1:32.97. The relay team of Zach Bishop, Evan Brophy, Ryan O'Leary and Aaron Magazine placed fifth (1:29.11).
