Towson Earns Senior Day DH Split Against CofC

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team concluded its 2017 season by splitting a doubleheader against the College of Charleston in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action under overcast skies at the Tiger Softball Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Celebrating Senior Day, the Tigers rallied from losing the first game, 4-3, in eight innings, to claim a 10-6 victory in the second contest. With the win, the Tigers won their first CAA series of the season and ended the season with 23 victories.

Prior to the start of the doubleheader, Towson celebrated the careers of seniors Jessica South, Carly DeLauder, Caroline Reid, and Holiday Cahill. They were presented with flowers and large framed and signed pictures. They shed plenty of tears and shared lots of hugs before posing for several photos.

They all started the opening game and made strong contributions even though the Tigers fell in extra innings. Towson also got significant aid from junior Daria Edwards, who had four hits over the two games. Juniors Brook Miko and Olivia Baltazar had big moments during Towson's seven-run fourth inning the second game.
