CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Towson University volleyball team used a pair of 3-1 wins to close out the Catamount Classic hosted by Western Carolina on Saturday. The Tigers defeated Western Carolina in the opener and then took down Charleston Southern to close out the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record.

Anna Holehouse were named to the All-Tournament team. Otero finished the weekend with 33 kills, a .286 hitting percentage and 13 digs. Kuilan contributed 42 kills, a .326 hitting percentage, 15 digs and four blocks. Holehouse led the defensive efforts with 79 digs, including a career-high 34 digs against Western Carolina.

Day Two of the Catamount Classic
HOW IT HAPPENED (Western Carolina Match)
- Â A kill from sophomore Annie Ertz helped the Tigers open up a 10-3 lead in the first set. Kuilan's kill extended the Towson advantage to 17-7 and forced Western Carolina to call a timeout. The Tigers closed out the set on a 5-0 run which secured a 25-11 set win. Otero had a pair of kills during that stretch.
- Ertz had a kill which helped the Tigers open up an 11-6 edge in the second set. A service ace from Ertz pushed the Towson advantage to 15-8. Kuilan and junior Carola Biver each had a pair of kills in the closing run which helped the Tigers earn a 25-15 set win and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
- The third set featured 13 ties and six lead changes between Towson and Western Carolina. With the set tied at 19-19, Western Carolina used a 6-2 run to take the set 25-21.
- Western Carolina jumped out to a 13-9 lead in the fourth on a service ace from Hannah Price. Towson responded with five straight points and took a 14-13 lead. Ertz and junior Olamide Sonuga each had two kills during that stretch. The two teams battled down the stretch before a kill from Otero gave Towson a 25-21 set win and victory in the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Charleston Southern Match)
- With the first set tied at 19-19, Charleston Southern took advantage of three straight attack errors by the Tigers to take a 22-19 lead. Back-to-back blocks involving Kylie Klein gave the Buccaneers a 25-21 set win.
- A kill from Biver gave Towson an 11-8 lead in the second set. Sonuga pushed the Tigers advantage to 17-11 with a kill. A pair of kills from Biver helped secure a 25-16 set win for Towson and tied the match at 1-1.
- A pair of kills from Biver sandwiched around a ball handling error by Charleston Southern allowed the Tigers to take a 12-5 lead. A kill from sophomore Silvia Grassini pushed the Towson advantage to 17-9. The two teams battled down the stretch before kills from Sonuga and Biver secured a 25-13 set win and a 2-1 lead in the match.
- With the fourth set tied at 11-11, Towson used a 6-1 run to take a 17-12 advantage. Sophomore Olivia Finckel recorded a kill during that stretch. A kill from freshman Kamryn Stambaugh extended the Tiger advantage to 20-15. A pair of kills from Kuilan and one from Grassini closed out a 25-16 set win and victory in the match for the Tigers.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Towson got a trio of double-doubles in the win over Western Carolina. Sophomore Marrisa Wonders finished with 37 assists and 15 digs for her second straight double-double. Ertz contributed 11 kills and 11 digs for her second career double-double. Biver added 13 kills and 14 digs for the Tigers.
- Redshirt junior Anna Holehouse posted a career-high 34 digs in the win over Western Carolina. It was Holehouse's third career match with 30 or more digs and is tied for the second most digs in single-match history at Towson.
- Kuilan had a season-high 20 kills against Western Carolina.
- Towson held both opponents to a hitting percentage under .200.
- The Tigers got three more double-doubles in the Charleston Southern match. Wonders posted her third double-double of the year with 28 assists and 11 digs. Otero had 11 kills and 10 digs for her first career double-double. Junior Peyton Moyles also recorded a double-double with 17 assists and 12 digs.
- Towson had a season-high 11 team blocks against Charleston Southern. Grassini led the Tigers efforts with six blocks.

The Tigers are back in action when they head back to the state of North Carolina next weekend. Towson heads to the Appalachian State Tournament on Sept. 1 and 2.
