Marrisa Wonders dished out a team-high 88 assists while redshirt junior
Anna Holehouse led the defensive efforts with 79 digs. Sophomore

Scouting the Opponents: Appalachian State sits at 2-2 on the year after going 2-1 last weekend at the UNCW Tournament.
Kara Spicer was named the MVP of the UNCW Tournament and the Sun Belt Freshman of the Week after posting 56 kills and 11 blocks.
Olivia Loeffler had 98 digs during the opening weekend.
Virginia went 2-1 while hosting its own tournament to start the season.
Sarah Billard led the Cavaliers with 37 kills and six blocks while
Jennifer Wineholt dished out 74 assists to go along with 18 digs.
ETSU enters the weekend looking for its first win of the season. The Bucs went 0-3 against a tough field at the Lipscomb Tournament.
AJ Lux leads the way with 22 kills and five blocks while
Hailey Aguilar has a team-best 35 digs.
Series History: Friday's contest will be the fifth all-time between the Tigers and Mountaineers and the first since 2013. Appalachian State leads the series 3-1 thanks to that 3-0 victory as part of the N.C. State Tournament. Towson's last win in the series came in 1991.
The Tigers will be looking for their first ever win over the Cavaliers. Virginia has won the previous four meetings, with the last coming in 2004. The Cavaliers won that meeting in Charlottesville, 3-1.
Towson will be facing ETSU for the first time ever on Saturday. The Bucs are the second of four teams that the Tigers will face for the first time ever in 2017.
I'm Honored: Towson redshirt junior
Anna Holehouse was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Holehouse posted 79 digs (7.18 per set) to go along with 18 assists in the Tigers' three wins. She posted her third career match with 30 or more digs after posting a career-high 34 digs against Western Carolina. The 34 digs against the Catamounts are tied for the second most in single-match history at Towson.
Seeing Double: Sophomore
Marrisa Wonders picked up right where she left off in the opening weekend of the 2017 campaign. After leading the league with 20 double-doubles, Wonders had one in each of her first three matches last weekend. Wonders now has 23 double-doubles in 36 matches for the Tigers.
Wonders wasn't the only Tiger to post a double-double last weekend as the Tigers got three double-double performances in their matches against Western Carolina and Charleston Southern. Against the Catamounts it was Wonders, junior
Carola Biver and sophomore
Annie Ertz. Wonders was joined by junior
Peyton Moyles and senior
Julymar Otero in hitting the mark against the Buccaneers.
Welcome to the Block Party: Towson posted a season-best 11 team blocks in the win over Charleston Southern last weekend. It was the most team blocks since the Tigers had 11 at the College of Charleston on Oct. 23 of last year. Eight Tigers recorded at least one block in the win over Charleston Southern. That group was led by middle blockers
Silvia Grassini (six blocks) and
Olamide Sonuga (four blocks).
Up Next: The Tigers return home to host the Towson Tiger Invitational next weekend, Sept. 7-10. The 13 match, four day tournament will feature Cal State Fullerton, George Mason, Quinnipiac, Eastern Michigan and Lafayette along with the Tigers. The action kicks off Thursday, Sept. 7 when the Tigers host Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m.
