Towson Edged In Overtime At UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Towson University men's basketball team dropped a 73-71 overtime decision to UNCW in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) contest at Trask Coliseum Saturday night.
 
Four Tigers reached double figures led by Zane Martin's 21 points. Deshaun Morman added 13 for Towson, which had its modest two-game winning streak ended. Also reaching double figures for the Tigers was Justin Gorham and Mike Morsell. They finished with 10 points each.

How It Happened
  • UNCW scored six of the last seven points of the game to erase a 70-67 deficit in the final 1 minute, 42 seconds of overtime.
  • Trailing, 72-71, Towson had a chance to take the lead, but a short floater fell short.
  • Jordon Talley threw in an off-balanced 3-pointer from 25 feet to tie the game and following a TU turnover, Jaylen Fornes dunked to give UNCW the lead for good, 72-70.
  • Morman threw down a dunk that gave the Tigers a 70-67 lead.
  • Overtime was forced when Talley made two foul shots with four seconds remaining to knot the game at 61..
  • Protecting a late lead in regulation, Towson missed four free throws in the final 23 seconds.
