BALTIMORE, Md. - Towson University men's swimming and diving junior
Jack Saunderson posted an NCAA B cut time in the 200-yard butterfly while junior
Evan Brophy was a two-time winner as the Tigers posted a 161-132 victory over local rival Loyola Maryland on Wednesday at Mangione Pool.
Towson posted wins in 12 of the 16 events, including 1-meter diving where reigning CAA Diver of the Week, freshman
Will Canny, took home first with a score of 264.45.
How it Happened
- Saunderson won the 200 fly with a time of 1:47.35 while finishing second in the 500-yard freestyle. He was also a member of the victorious 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay teams.
- Brophy won the 500 free in a time of 4:44.82 and captured the 1,000-yard freestyle with a mark of 9:38.68, just ahead of senior Matt Sieffert. The Tigers finished 1-2-3-4 in the 500 free and 1-2-3 in the 1,000.
- Sieffert touched the wall first in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:55.99 while junior Zach Bishop won the 100-yard backstroke in 52.29 seconds. Bishop was also second in the 100-yard butterfly.
- Senior Nick Essing won the 100-yard freestyle while sophomore Matt Essing won the 50-yard freestyle. Junior Aaron Magazine took home first in the 200-yard freestyle.
- Sophomore Ryan O'Leary finished second in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke while teaming with Saunderson, Nick Essing and sophomore Owen Robinson to finish first in the 200-yard medley relay.
- Senior Colin Roddy finished first in the 200-yard individual medley and second in the 200 back.
- Canny also finished second in 3-meter diving.
