Towson Opens Home Slate With Wesley

TOWSON, Md. – The sweet sounds of roaring fans, squeaking sneakers, rattling rims and bouncing balls will greet the Towson University men's basketball team when it begins its 2018-19 home schedule against Wesley Sunday afternoon.
 
It will be the second game of a basketball doubleheader as the women host Massachusetts at 2 p.m. This is the Tigers annual Gold Rush game and all fans are encouraged to wear gold. Tickets are $5 and one ticket is good for both games.
 
This game is the kickoff of the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase tournament.

Home Sweet Home
  • This is the Tigers first home contest in 257 days.

A Look At Wesley
  • A Division III school, Wesley is located in Dover, Del.
  • Entering their first season in the newly formed Atlantic East Conference, the Wolverines are coming off their 11th consecutive berth in the (CAC) Championship Tournament in the 2017-18 season.
  • Wesley returns nine players from last year's team, led by All-CAC and All-Eastern College Athletic Conference honoree Brian Cameron, who averaged 20.5 points per game.
  • Wesley, which finished with a 13-13 record, also returns senior Evan Anderson, who averaged 13.5 points.

Towson In The Community
The Towson men's basketball team has been active in the community since returning to campus in August. Members of the team spoke at Loch Raven Academy, participated in Towson West Elementary School's Back To School Night and the Autism Speaks Walk.

  • Towson will compete in the three-day Islands of the Bahamas Showcase from Friday, Nov. 16 through Sunday, Nov. 18.
  • Towson opens with Pepperdine on Friday at 8 p.m. at Kendall Isaacs Gym in Nassau.
  • The Tigers will meet either Georgia Southern or Florida Atlantic on Saturday at either 2 p.m. or 8 p.m.
